Training of postgraduate students at the Civil Law Department, training program 12.00.03 «Civil Law and Civil Procedure; Family Law; International Private Law» started in September 1997. During the period of postgraduate studies more than fifty theses for the Ph.D. in Law were made and successfully defended. Postgraduate students constantly join the ranks of the academic staff of the Educational and Research Institute of Law.
Since 2016, the Civil Law Department is a graduating department for postgraduate program for the training of PhD, training program 081 «Law». Today, 20 postgraduate students work in the field of civil law, and perform theses for the Ph.D. in Law.
By the order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 820 of July 11, 2016 a Specialized Academic Council K 20.051.14 was established at the Educational and Research Institute of Law of the State Higher Educational Institution of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University to defend theses for Ph.D. in Law, training program 12.00.03 «Civil Law and Civil Procedure; Family Law; International Private Law». By the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 1428 of November 15, 2019, the powers of the Specialized Academic Council K 20.051.14 were extended and its composition was renewed. During the period of work of the Specialized Academic Council K 20.015.14 from 11.07.2016 to 31.12.2021, 23 PhD theses in the training program 12.00.03 were successfully defended.
By the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 530 of June 06, 2022, a Specialized Academic Council D 20.051.14 was established at the Educational and Research Institute of Law of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University to defend the theses for the PhD in Law, training program 12.00.03 «Civil Law and Civil Procedure; Family Law; International Private Law» and training program 12.00.08 «Criminal Law and Criminology; Penal Law». The term of the Council is from 06.06.2022 to 06.06.2025.
